What is a water-injected screw compressor?
A screw in which water replaces oil: it seals the rotors and carries the heat away during compression. The air leaves oil-free and cool. It is the widest oil-free screw range in the catalogue, from small to large power, and the only one that goes up to 12.5 bar.

A screw where water replaces oil: it seals and carries the heat away, and the air leaves oil-free. From 5.5 to 220 kW for 0.78 to 39.5 m³/min, it is the widest oil-free screw in the catalogue, and the only one that reaches 12.5 bar.
It needs good-quality water and a controlled dew point downstream; the dry screw of the neighbouring family does without, at the price of more complex mechanics.
Here it is water, not oil, that is injected into the compression chamber. The water lubricates, seals the gaps between the rotors and absorbs the heat of compression: the process is near-isothermal, which improves efficiency.
The air never comes into contact with oil: it leaves certified ISO 8573-1 Class 0, like a dry oil-free machine, but often without a second stage thanks to the very effective cooling provided by the water. The water is filtered and recycled in a closed circuit.
The same demanding sectors as the dry oil-free screw (food processing, pharma, electronics, chemicals), with the added benefit of cool, clean air at the outlet. Particularly suited when isothermal efficiency and low-temperature air are sought.

The injected water does not contaminate the air: no oil in the chamber, and class 0 is stated on every sheet.
Near-isothermal compression
The water absorbs the heat as compression proceeds: better efficiency and air delivered at low temperature.
Often without a second stage
Water cooling is so effective that it often does without the second stage that a dry oil-free screw requires: simpler mechanics.
Water recycled in a closed circuit
The water is filtered and injected again in a loop: controlled consumption, no oily discharge to treat.

Most comparisons set two machines against each other. The standard, however, judges the air at the point of use. A lubricated screw followed by a treatment chain can deliver oil-free air at the point of use, at a significantly lower purchase cost; class 0 itself remains that of an oil-free machine.
