Your industry decides the air quality

The right machine is not chosen on flow alone. What you produce sets an air class, and that class sets a technology. Eight industries, eight answers.

The air class targeted and the first machine we install, industry by industry. Every row leads to the card that details it.

Our order of preference for Class 0

The technologies, unfolded one by one

When a specification says Class 0, CEZIUM quotes an oil-free machine, as the trade understands it: scroll compressor up to 5 m³/min, rotary tooth compressor from 2.3 to 8.6 m³/min, dry screw or centrifugal beyond that. We also point out the alternative few suppliers mention: a lubricated screw followed by a treatment chain delivers oil-free air for a markedly lower purchase price, without carrying the Class 0 label.

In this trade, Class 0 means an oil-free machine. That is the convention, and it is what a specification expects when it writes Class 0, so that is what we quote. Technically, ISO 8573-1 classifies air at the point of use rather than the compressor, so a lubricated screw followed by multi-stage filtration and an adsorption dryer delivers oil-free air measured on acceptance. That is a genuine alternative, cheaper to buy and far better at heat recovery, but it does not give you a Class 0 certified machine. Both are worth knowing; your own documents decide.

FAQ

Before you choose

The five questions that come back whenever a specification lands on the desk.

How do I know which air class my process requires?
ISO 8573-1 grades the air at the point of use with three figures, in this order: particles, water, oil. Your specification, or your industry's standard, sets those three figures. The classes shown on this page are the CEZIUM default for each industry, a starting point for the discussion, never a regulatory obligation.
Does class 0 mean an oil-free compressor?
In the trade, yes: that is the convention, and that is what a specification expects when it writes class 0. So we offer an oil-free machine. Technically, ISO 8573-1 grades the air at the point of use and not the compressor, so a lubricated screw followed by multi-stage filtration and an adsorption dryer delivers oil-free air measured on handover. That alternative is cheaper to buy, but it does not give you a certified class 0 machine.
Is flow enough to choose a machine?
No. Flow tells you the size, not the technology. The air class your production requires, the working pressure and the load profile are what point to the family: scroll, rotary tooth, lubricated screw, dry screw, high-pressure piston or centrifugal. Two workshops on the same flow can receive two unrelated machines.
Which dryer for which dew point?
Air leaves the compressor saturated with water, and the required dew point is what decides. A refrigerated dryer reaches around +3 °C, which covers most workshops. An adsorption dryer reaches -40 °C, and down to -70 °C for the most demanding processes, electronics in particular.
My industry is not on this list.
These eight trades cover the requests that come back most often, not the whole of industry. The diagnostic starts from three figures you already know: your flow, your pressure, and whether the air touches the product. It returns catalogue machines without going through an industry at all.

Flow and pressure are enough to start. If you do not know them yet, the diagnostic reconstructs them from how you use the air.
